Europol Report Names Three SEE Countries as Sources of Trafficking in Women
On 24 January, South Eastern European Times reported that a Europol report on organised crime in Europe during 2004 says Albania, Bulgaria and Romania, along with Ukraine, are primary sources of the trafficking of women in Eastern Europe. The document also said that organised groups of ethnic Albanians are active in many EU member states and involved in various criminal activities such as drug smuggling, illegal immigration and human trafficking.
